Our faculty are active researchers, writers and speakers; many of them internationally known for their contributions toward the advancement of their fields of study. But, most of all, they're passionate, caring teachers.

  • Elizabeth Brondos Fry, PhD

    Assistant Professor, Statistics

    Elizabeth Brondos Fry, PhD, Assistant Professor of Statistics, teaches undergraduate courses in statistics and data science in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. She has developed and taught courses incorporating community-engaged learning, including work with "Welcoming the Dear Neighbor?" and "Mapping Prejudice". Her research interests focus on statistics education, including curriculum development and evaluation, assessment of statistical learning, and instructor practices and beliefs. She has served as an Advanced Placement (AP) Statistics reader since 2012, evaluating the free response portion of the AP Statistics exam.

  • Monica Brown, MS

    Mary T. Hill Director of Data Science; Assistant Professor, Mathematics

    Monica is currently serving as the first Mary T. Hill Director of Data Science at St. Catherine University in addition to her role as an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics. She holds her master's degree in Applied Mathematics (emphasis in Statistics) from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and is currently engaged in doctoral coursework in Leadership. Monica has been a faculty member at St. Kate's since 2008. She is responsible for the development and implementation of an Interdisciplinary Statistics minor (2015) and a Data Science major (2018) at St. Kate's. Her current work involves establishing a Data Science Institute for the community of St. Catherine University.
