Study Abroad Policies and Procedures

Students are responsible for reading and following up with any questions that they may have about Global Studies policies and procedures.

  • Travel Warnings

The Office of Global Studies is committed to providing safe travel opportunities for students. However, there are some courses and programs that may travel to areas that have a current travel warning. Although an area may have a travel warning, a course may be deemed as safe by our office based on a variety of factors including the travel route. Students who study abroad in an area with a travel warning must complete a travel warning waiver form prior to departure.

For more information on travel warnings visit the U.S. Department of State’s website for the most up to date information. Or, view learn more about health and safety abroad.

  • Petitions

Students may attempt to petition the Global Studies Advisory Committee for special approval of a student’s study abroad plans. Students may petition to participate in a course or program that is not offered through St. Kate’s or it’s affiliate programs but must have a reason as to why the program is unique from others offered and best suits their needs as students. If you are interested in learning more about petitioning email Global Studies.

  • Cancellation

Cancellation policies vary depending on the program. Please check out the information listed above, as well as your particular program's information.
