Global Studies Photo Contest

Did you study abroad in the past year? Submit one of your best travel photos to our annual photo contest!

    Details & Eligibility

Each year, the Office of Global Studies sponsors a photo contest so students can share their favorite experiences abroad!

Photos taken abroad are often used in promotional materials for the Office of Global Studies, the St. Kate's website, and in St. Catherine University Magazine. .

To be eligible, students need to have studied abroad within the 12 months preceding the contest. For example, for the 2018 contest, students will need to have studied abroad Spring semester 2017, Summer 2017, Fall 2017 or J-term 2018.

We choose five winners (and award great prizes!): 1st and 2nd place for Cultural Connections, 1st and 2nd place for Katies Abroad, and a People's Choice Award. A panel of judges will choose the category winners, while the People's Choice Award will be decided by vote on Facebook on April 9 - 16. • Email your submissions to with the subject line "Photo contest entry". Be sure to include title the photo, state the location and the term abroad, and include a brief description of the image using the form below.
    • Images between 2 MB and 10 MB are ideal. The larger the better!
    • For email purposes, most files will easily attach and email if they are 10MB or less. If you are submitting several photos, you may need to email one at a time.
    • Images pulled from social media are already compressed and downsized. Often these are too small/low resolution to be used.
    • Prints of photos will be made once submissions are in for judging. These will be 4x6 prints, so photos that are not this ratio may be cropped!

See below for more guidelines and the Submission Form. Email with any questions.
