OTD at st. kate's
Doctor of Occupational
Therapy at St. Kate's
Would you like to develop your ability to lead and influence systems change that will positively impact the profession of occupational therapy? If you are an occupational therapist with a master’s degree, St. Catherine’s occupational therapy doctorate (OTD) can prepare you to take the next step in your meaningful career.
St. Catherine’s OTD program is for you if you are interested in specializing more deeply in a practice area, shaping policy, advocating for the profession, contributing to evidence-based practice or teaching.
And you can continue your current job while earning your doctorate, because our program is online, part-time and flexible.
An invaluable network
St. Catherine offers outstanding opportunities for collaboration and professional networking. The OTD is built on the University’s 60-year history in educating occupational therapists and more than 100 years in healthcare education.
You’ll receive personalized guidance from faculty who are nationally recognized in the field. Academic Dean Penny Moyers is the former president of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Additionally, a third of our OTD faculty are AOTA Fellows, honored by the association for their leadership and contributions to the field. Our faculty contribute research and scholarship to the profession by publishing widely and presenting internationally. When you choose St. Catherine, you become part of an influential network.
Broad perspective, specialized knowledge
Our approach to the curriculum is unique among OTD programs. You have the opportunity to specialize in the practice area you choose, rather than a predetermined track. By working alongside professionals in ranging specialties, you will broaden your perspective of the field, while deepening your area of expertise.
Grounded in values
The OTD curriculum supports the St. Catherine University mission, grounded in the liberal arts tradition of intellectual inquiry and Catholic teaching of social justice. You will graduate from St. Catherine prepared to meet societal needs by leading in the delivery of equitable, ethical and effective occupational therapy practices.
