Earn credit for prior training

As a student in the AM2 program, you will be granted up to 15 credits for training you've already completed through your prior Montessori teaching credential. The credential must be:

  • Granted by the American Montessori Society, Associate Montessori Internationale or another program accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE); see the MACTE web site for a listing of accredited programs.
  • Valid at the Early Childhood (ages 2.5-6), Elementary I (ages 6-9) or Elementary II (ages 6-12) level
  • A full credential (not a provisional, temporary or associate credential).

Credits granted will satisfy requirements for Montessori Fundamentals I, II and III. If you have earned academic credit for your Montessori credential training, the credit must not have been applied toward any other degree or program other than your original Montessori credential.

A fee will be assessed for each credit granted for your prior Montessori teaching credential. See our tuition and fees page for details.

When you apply for admission to the AM2 program, you will submit copies of any Montessori credentials currently held.
