Pre-Occupational Therapy

Pre-Occupational Therapy

College for Women | Henrietta Schmoll School of Health

Are you interested in helping people develop, to their fullest potential, the skills of living needed to learn, work, play, socialize, sleep, and care for oneself and others? When pursuing the pre-occupational therapy degree on our St. Paul campus, you will be given the opportunity to apply your liberal arts education toward a graduate degree in OT.

Prepare for a Master's Program in OT

A master’s degree is required to enter the occupational therapy profession. St. Kate’s is one of the few programs in the United States to offer a dual degree program that enables you to complete the first year of the graduate curriculum while still an undergraduate student.

Your pre-occupational therapy area of study will include all MAOT prerequisites, liberal arts core requirements, and major course work in the field of study you chose.

As a pre-OT student, you have opportunities to study abroad. Once admitted to the MAOT program, you can work with people in underserved communities locally or in other countries. You must complete a minimum of two fieldwork experiences in the Twin Cities, greater Minnesota, or in other states or countries. Each is a 12-week full time placement.
