Prepare for a Teaching Career

As an elementary education major, you’ll study general teaching methods; school and chemical health; literacy methods; methods in mathematics, science, and social studies; relationship techniques; and STEM for elementary learners

Our education programs integrate practical courses with an emphasis on fieldwork. As a teacher candidate, you’ll spend up to 50 hours gaining hands-on classroom experience each semester, beginning with the first class.

Students with an education degree from St. Catherine University get noticed. Many principals put St. Catherine University graduates’ resumes at the top of the pile when making hiring decisions. That’s not surprising — St. Kate's has been educating women to be teachers since 1905.

After finishing your bachelor's in elementary education, continue in St. Kate's online Master of Arts in Education degree for licensed teachers.

With the solid foundation of knowledge gained at St. Kate’s, you will be prepared to take your teaching licensure exam and become an educational innovator.
