Angela Riley ’84 is the executive vice president and chief financial officer, treasurer, and corporate secretary at St. Catherine University. She oversees the University’s financial planning and analysis, investment portfolio, financial services relationships and transactions, and legal affairs, as well as overseeing multiple departments. Under Riley’s leadership, St. Kate’s has made significant strategic investments that have led to a strong and sustainable foundation of financial stability.
Previously, Riley was vice president of finance and chief financial officer for Imperial Plastics, Inc. She was a key member of their executive management team and was directly responsible for all financial planning, management and reporting for a $110+ million privately held contract manufacturing company. Prior to Imperial Plastics, Inc., Riley was the chief financial officer at Northern Contours, Inc.
Before joining Northern Contours, Inc., Riley worked as a professional company director in Western Australia, where she was a leader in delivering best practice governance, oversight, and management to a portfolio of commercial and not-for-profit organizations. She served as a nationally recognized, accredited facilitator for Australia’s premier organization in board governance, training, and advocacy, specializing in governance for indigenous organizations. She also was the co-owner/manager of a 5000+ acre Australian, third-generation family farm.
Riley earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. Kate’s and a master’s degree in business administration from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She is a board member and audit committee co-chair for Stratacor, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and past president of the Twin Cities chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI).
