Guest Parking

To park on each of the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses, visitors need to obtain a parking permit from the Public Safety department.

All guests need a guest permit to park in the guest parking lots on the St Kate's campuses. Guests may park along the perimeter of the guest lot. The guest parking lot on the St. Paul campus is directly east of the O'Shaughnessy Auditorium and O'Shaughnessy parking lot.

Permit Requests

  • Permit parking is provided 7 days per week, between 7 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • No permit is required after 5 p.m. unless the guest is parking between 2 a.m.–7 a.m., when an overnight parking permit is required.
  • Guests of St. Catherine University are required to display a guest parking permit and park in the guest lot or the O'Shaughnessy lot.
In Person

Students, faculty and staff may obtain guest parking permits in person at the Public Safety building at any time.

By Email

We require at least 48 hours notice for faculty and staff requesting electronic permits for their guests. Faculty and staff should direct all requests for electronic guest permits to

For electronic requests, Public Safety will need the following information:

  • Date of visit
  • Purpose of visit (such as where on campus they will be visiting)
  • Name of individual visiting
  • Contact # (a number where the vehicle owner can be reached while on campus)

Traditionally, when an electronic guest permit is emailed the requester is carbon copied (cc:) on the email so they will know it has been sent. We do not guarantee a permit will be sent out to individuals if the date requested is within 48 hours of the date needed.
