My name is Kira Nelson. I absolutely love the Minnesota Twins. My boyfriend and I have season tickets, so in the summer we practically live at the Metrodome. My favorite player hands down is Justin Morneau. I sport his jersey to every game I go to. I love watching him at bat or guarding 1st base. No matter where he is on the field, he is giving his all.
In 2006 he was awarded the American League MVP award. He is only the fourth player in Twins history to win this award. Because of his outstanding abilities on the field, Morneau was on the 2007 All-Star roster. In 2007 he was also a participant in the State Farm Home Run Derby.
I grew up watching the Twins. My mom is a huge fan, so every summer night we were glued to the TV. As I got older I drifted away. I didn't make a point of watching the games. It was not until two summers ago that my boyfriend and I began to really pay attention to the Twins. For me the Twins are the summer. The beginning of the Twins season is the signal that winter is over and summer is coming. Nothing is more exciting then a summer evening at the dome.
