Morse Code

Samuel F. B. Morse

Born April 27, 1791 - Died April 2, 1872

Overview

Samuel Morse sent messages by running telegraph cables along side the railways, during the 1840'3. His first success happened on May 1st 1844. The telegraph cables had to be thick and durable in order to weather the conditions, so they would not break and the connection then would be lost. To do this Morse developed lightening wires and Morse code, which is an electronic alphabet, that would carry messages.

This is one of the machines that would send the messages to other places in the United States, at first, then the world.
