Goals

My goal is to better support formal and informal learning for LIS students and professionals, who are among my best teachers. I believe that we learn best when we learn from and with each other. As a learning facilitator, researcher, and LIS professional, my long-term goals are: (1) to develop and refine a community-learning model for face-to-face, hybrid, and distance learning contexts, and (2) to do research that can improve the use of technology for information seeking, learning, collaboration, and online community building. My main focus is how technology can be used to support reflection and co-reflection and the importance of affect and social interaction in these reflective processes. I also seek to apply what I learn to supporting librarian-faculty collaboration in information literacy instruction, information-seeking in digital libraries, and bridging the digital divide.
