Library and Information Science
Preserving the records of the past and transforming the future through the use of technology are key outcomes for MLIS students.

Library and Information Science

Library and information science is a profession that builds bridges among people, information and technology. The School of Business and Professional Studies offers a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree that educates students to be active leaders in a rapidly changing information society.

The program integrates the principles, practices and ethics of library and information science with an in-depth understanding of the people who use information systems in their work and communities.

St. Catherine’s MLIS students learn to collect, organize, preserve and disseminate information so that all people — regardless of age, gender, race, color, creed, ethnicity, socio-economic status, political persuasion or sexual orientation — have equal access to the information they seek.

The MLIS program, accredited by the American Library Association, is open to women and men.
