Thoughts on Global Studies
Now that globalization is upon us, studying
and traveling abroad are more important
than ever. While studying abroad can be
incredibly eye opening and mind expanding
(and fun), it also forms our values and beliefs
about other cultures and other people.
Studying abroad does on an individual level
what hordes of diplomatic corps do on a
governmental level: build relationships
between people and countries. Only we do
it one person at a time. I'm so pleased to be
working in a field that not only gives people
incredible experiences but also helps shape
the future of the world in a positive way.
Favorite Activities
Baking, bicycling, reading the classics
Favorite St. Kate's Memory
I've been here a short time, but my best
memory so far is hearing the history of Sister
Antonia building a "cathedral" rather then
the small chapel she was given permission to
build. I love that chutzpah at St. Kate's!
