Wild Geranium

 

 

 

 

 

 

You found Wild geranium (Geranium maculatum).

 

 

 

 

The flowers grow in groups of 2 to 20 flowers that are composed of 5 petals (10). The flowers bloom in the spring.  The leaves are simple and lobed. It grows between 8 to 24 inches tall.  Wild geranium is found in natural openings in woods and thickets.  It is moderately shade tolerant and is found throughout eastern North America.
