known as Red ash, this medium sized tree grows 40 to 60 feet tall (7). The
bark is gray with ridges. There are 5 to 9 leaflets
with stalks that are narrowly winged. The leaves turn yellow in autumn (2). The fruit is a samara
that has a notched or pointed wing tip and is produced in the late summer.
This is the most widespread native ash. |
