Julian Kittelson-Aldred ’08 has great plans for her life. “I want to save the world,” she says. Since her arrival at St. Kate’s, she has made serious strides toward achieving that goal.
Kittelson-Aldred is an active member of the College of St. Catherine community. In her work with Campus Ministry, she recently helped interview candidates for the Campus Ministry Social Justice Coordinator. “I was excited to help because I have a strong investment in keeping the social justice environment on campus active,” she says. “It was exciting to see how seriously the other students’ and my input was taken by the staff who led the search.”
Her quest for justice extends beyond her work on campus, however. As Web Master and Creative Director for Eleanore’s Project, a nonprofit organization named in honor of Julian’s sister Eleanore Kittelson-Aldred, who had a rare form of cerebral palsy and used a wheelchair all of her short life, she takes an active role in the organization's work to provide wheelchairs for South American children with disabilities.
As she works for justice here and around the world, Kittelson-Aldred places her faith in one of St. Kate’s greatest teachings — the notion that nothing is impossible for women who dream. “St. Kate’s has provided me with many strong, capable, phenomenal women that I can look up to and has connected me with peer students who are doing amazing things and fuel my own drive,” she says.
