What is Give to St. Kate's Day?
Give to St. Kate’s Day is a one-day, online giving campaign supporting the University’s greatest needs.
What is the challenge fund?
Several generous donors have committed over $120,000 to challenge fellow alumnae and friends to make a gift to St. Catherine University to support the needs of current students.
Where is my gift going?
Contributions on Give to St. Kate’s Day support the Annual Fund to help the University’s greatest needs such as student financial aid, technology upgrades, faculty development, library resources, career counseling, academic support and more.
Why does St. Catherine University promote Give to St. Kate’s Day instead of Give MN’s Give to the Max?
Give to St. Kate’s Day is inspired by GiveMN’s Give to the Max Day, a one-day online giving promotion to help all Minnesota non-profits raise funds. St. Kate’s donors can still participate in GiveMN’s Give to the Max Day if that is preferred. The University has chosen to create a unique day of giving reaching out to a broad audience of alumnae and friends who live nationally and internationally.
Was Give to St. Kate's Day 2010 successful?
Our goal: To raise $50,000 for the St. Kate's Annual Fund within 24 hours; to bring in 50 new donors; to come together as a community to support current students.
What we accomplished: $185,595.87 Annual Fund dollars raised and pledged to help current students through financial aid, faculty development, library resources, career development and more.
$22,710 raised and pledged for a variety of other restricted funds at St. Kate's for total of $208,305!
Does my contribution really make a difference?
Organizations that rank U.S. colleges and universities look at alumnae participation as an indicator of the quality of an institution. In addition, many foundations and corporations look at alumnae participation as a basis to determine whether the University is a good investment. Your gift, when combined with the thousands of other gifts from alumnae and friends, adds up to big support for St. Kate's students. Your gift makes a statement that St. Catherine University is an institution worth investing in.
Is the Annual Fund tax-deductible?
Yes, St. Catherine University is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and all gifts are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
