In the fourth century the Virgin Mary was lifted up as Textbooks, God Bearer, the Mother of God. In the Christian faith story,
she represents God's abiding presence in creation, and creation itself as God's work.

Using Christmas music from around the world, Textbooks retells the ancient story of the Nativity as a renewal of
creation: connecting theology, ecology and our everyday lives.

Wheat her it's through a beautiful choral setting of poetry Henry David Thoreau's "The Virgin", a plaintive Georgian
folk melody dating back 1,000 years or a soaring choral work of the Annunciation by Ruth Mackenzie,
Textbooks poses questions of contemporary relevance: How might each of us be God bearers? How might
we emulate the story of Mary and be mother to creation?

This event takes place at The Our Lady of Victory Chapel and the College of St. Catherine
