Earn a degree at a pace that works for you.
You already know that you'll have to work for your degree. But to make it a little easier, the College of St. Catherine offers a class schedule that works for you: the Associate Degree Extended Program option.

Is the Extended Program right for me?
If you're a student who can't attend St. Catherine's full-time because of job or family responsibilities — or a student who needs to ease into college-level work by further developing your skills — the Extended Program is ideal for you. Take the liberal arts and science courses required for your associate degree part-time in the day or evening — your choice! (When you move into the two-year sequence of professional courses, the majority of your courses will be offered in the day only.)

To ensure your success in professional courses, the admission office may require you to start out in the Extended Program if your academic background indicates that it would be valuable for you. Whatever your situation, you can count on St. Catherine's faculty support as you work toward your goals.

How does the Extended Program work?
You need more time to complete your degree, the Extended Program option gives you that time. Instead of requiring you to finish all your course work in two years, the Extended Program lets you take up to a year to complete the liberal arts courses required for your associate degree before you begin to take the two-year sequence of professional courses. It's a great way to make your transition to college student a successful one and to learn how to manage the new demands on your time. Best of all, you pay no special fees or extra tuition for the Extended Program option — it costs the same as the standard two-year option.

If you have attended another college before enrolling at St. Catherine's and have transfer credits with a grade of "C" or better, don't worry — you won't have to repeat those classes as part of the Extended Program.
