Renaissance Madrigal Feastes
RENAISSANCE MADRIGAL FEAST
Friday, Dec. 7, and Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007
Coeur de Catherine Ballroom (Rauenhorst Hall)
Seating begins at 6:30 p.m.
Ph. (651) 690-8801

Hear ye! Hear ye! You are invited to celebrate a Renaissance Christmas at the College of St. Catherine’s annual Madrigal Feast! As you enter the Great Hall, you will become a royal guest to be entertained by the singing lords and ladies, the royal instrumentalists, the mischievous jester and even your meal servers. You will join in a toast to the season with hot (nonalcoholic) wassail; dine on roast pork, hearty potatoes and bread, winter salad and our version of “flaming plum pudding.” New this year: a cash bar will be available for those who wish to enjoy a glass of wine or a “mug of ale.”

Dr. Patricia Connors, Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities, directs the event. The cast includes the Madrigal Singers (as principal performers), the Women’s Choir (as wandering minstrels, costumed servers and dancers), guest instrumentalists and faculty, staff and student actors. Music, the flavor of the Renaissance, and a sense of enchantment permeate the evening. Event ends at approximately 9:15 p.m.

To facilitate meal preparation, tickets must be purchased in advance. Cost is $40 per individual ticket, or $35 for groups of 8 or more.
