Shanafelt The idea of multiples brings to my mind a sense of interplay or cohesiveness to reach a common goal. My goal is to use these fragmented elements to heighten the level of ambiguity of the whole work. Much like a child with a new toy in their hands, I feel that having these extra fragments of information available to inspect make the finished work more playful and inviting. The use of non-traditional materials with clay is also another way to invite my intrigue and curiosity into the final work and its multiples.
