Iron Maidens
September 12 – October 30, 2011
St. Kate’s is the first U.S. venue to host this traveling exhibition outside of Great Britain. The exhibit features American, Welsh and English women artists who work with iron as their primary medium. Iron casting has a very old history as a process for creating functional products, however its use by fine artists is very recent, dating back to the 1960’s and the development of a studio sized iron furnace.
Elemental Neighborhood by Jeff Krolick &
Minneapolis Homicide by Jeffrey Farnam
November 12 – December 18, 2011
This exhibition features the photographic perspectives of two artists. Jeff Krolick’s photographs capture the shadows cast by our homes on the infrastructure that supports them, pavement, sewers, and the ordered horticulture with which we surround ourselves. Jeffrey Farnam’s panoramic shots are of locations within the city of Minneapolis where a homicide happened in or near the property photographed.
Urban Landscape by David Rich
November 12 – December 18, 2011
Rich’s large scale boldly painted canvases are both abstract and representational. They capture the essence of the urban landscape.
Everyday Epic: the wild, weird, wacky work of Amy Toscani
January 30 – March 31, 2012
Toscani’s largescale sculptures vaguely suggest recognizable objects that have a similar latent function. She states that her work has, "an optimistic, buoyant quality" and at the same time, "a physical ruggedness about it." The viewer is often dwarfed by her work and yet her sculptures remain very approachable.
Anastylosis: Mary Griep
January 30 – March 31, 2012
Mary Griep’s Anastylosis Project, largescale drawings of sacred structures from around the world, began in 1998. In 2007, a selection of the large drawings was exhibited at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. This cutrrent exhibition will include the Ulu Camii (Great Mosque) of Divrigi, Turkey; St Dimitrios Orthodox Church, Thessaloniki, Greece; with accompanying detail drawings.
St. Catherine University Senior Juried Exhibition

Always a crowd pleaser, this show features the juried works of the graduating studio art and art education majors.
