Amy M. Sears Visiting Artist Public Lecture
Elana Mann, the 2013 Amy M. Sears Memorial Visiting Artist, speaks on Thursday, March 7 at 7 p.m. in the Visual Arts Building, Room 102.
This event is free and open to the public.
During her residency, Mann will work on a new project with St. Catherine University students entitled "Resonate, Reverberate, Roar," an archive of original sounds recorded by Mann that will express a widely experimental, fiercely independent and socially progressive spirit. Mann will lead students in recording original sound content, which will be uploaded to a project website that will be accessible during the week of her residency. Mann also plans to facilitate a session of interviews between students and the Sisters of St. Joseph sharing of life experiences, ideas and wisdom.
Established in memory of Amy Marie Sears, a promising 1995 studio art major who passed away in 1997, the annual Amy Marie Sears Memorial Visiting Artist Series invites a distinguished artist to St. Catherine University for a one-week residency.
