Christina Ramsdell ’15
Hometown: St. Cloud, Minnesota
Major: Exercise Science/Pre-Physical Therapy (six-year dual degree program)
Why St. Kate’s: I chose St. Kate's for many reasons. Among them, the University has a credible physical therapy program and a flexible process for transferring prior college credits.
(Christina received the 2010 Elizabeth Ann Beatson O’Shaughnessy Scholarship from St. Catherine University. This award, which covers tuition and fees for four years, recognizes outstanding academic performance, extraordinary artistic or musical talent and excellence in extracurricular accomplishments.)
Campus activities: Wildcats track and field team, Exercise Science Club, Antonian Scholars Honors Program and singing with the choir at Sunday Mass.
On being an Antonian scholar:The topics course is interesting and the perks are awesome. You can sign up for classes first — before the rest of the student body.
Preparing for the job market: There are plenty of opportunities on campus to gain interview and presentation experience. The career center also helps with résumé writing.
Friendly community: You're going to know someone in every class once you get here, so you're never all by yourself. The campus is also peaceful, and there is plenty to do in the surrounding area.
Advice to prospective students: Come see St. Kate's, and visit more than once. I visited St. Kate's three times — and I'm glad I did! It helps as well to sit in on a class and meet with a professor, or a coach if you want to pursue athletics.
