Favorite things to do:
“Seeing the world, cooking, eating, reading books and magazines, and spending time with friends.”
Why St. Kate’s:
“St. Kate's helps students see themselves beyond their individual lives and makes them look at their place in the world. The University graduates students who are not only concerned with their own success, but also with how they can help make the world a better place. There are more than 150 different study abroad programs in 50 different countries to make this hope a reality. More than 200 students study abroad through the Office of Global Studies every year; what better way to see your place in the world than by experiencing another culture first-hand? There are programs to accommodate all kinds of students — year-long programs for the most adventurous, the more common semester abroad, and shorter 3 or 4 week-long sessions that don't interrupt a student's study plan but still offer them the chance to experience life somewhere else. And one of the best parts? St. Kate's financial aid can travel with a student.”
How to make the most of your college experience:
“While academics are important, they are only one part of your collegiate experience. Enrich your time in college by getting involved outside of classes! During my undergraduate career, I studied abroad and lived in Paris, participated in a full-time internship on campus, and was the president of one club and involved in two others. I also went to free movies on campus, basketball games, fitness classes and even played on an intramural softball team one year. College offers a unique combination of activities and it is what you make it — so make the most of it!”
