About the Graduate College
St. Catherine University began offering graduate programs for women and men in 1983. Today, the University enrolls over 1,400 students in its 10 different graduate degree programs and numerous graduate-level certificate options. The Graduate College admits all master's and doctoral degree students to the University.
Each of St. Catherine's graduate programs has an academic home in one of the University's four Schools. They share the University’s commitment to educating students to lead and influence — to become articulate, resourceful and ethical leaders who value social justice and excel in their professions.
St. Catherine’s intimate learning atmosphere and low student-to-faculty ratio provide a supportive environment for adult students. Each program addresses students’ desire to apply new learning as it is acquired and forms a tight-knit community of women and men of many ages and backgrounds.
At St. Catherine, we understand the complexity of the lives of adult students — many of whom are balancing family, personal and professional obligations. We offer flexible schedule options — with many courses meeting during the evening or on weekends — to make earning an advanced degree a possibility for busy professionals.
Graduate programs at St. Catherine focus on advanced knowledge in both theoretical and applied aspects of a particular field and integrate the liberal arts into advanced learning. St. Catherine is respected locally, regionally and nationally for its high academic standards and the quality of its graduates.
Values and themes common to all St. Catherine University graduate programs include:
- Ethics and leadership
- A holistic view of the person, including the spiritual dimension
- Social justice
- Critical analysis
- Interactive, integrated learning
