About the College for Applied and Continuing Learning

The College for Applied and Continuing Learning is responsible for the admission, retention and graduation of associate healthcare degree, healthcare certificate and associate of arts students at the University. These programs are housed on the University’s Minneapolis campus in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood, known for its ethnic and cultural diversity. The neighborhood is also home to the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview, located right across the street from campus.

We use a holistic approach to teaching and learning with the relationship between the teacher and student at the center of the experience. The development of knowledge and skills is set within a particular context with opportunity for application of new learning in multiple settings. This then translates to the student’s healing relationships with future patients and their ability to problem solve in a variety of environments.
