As we embark on our first academic year as St. Catherine University, we dedicate this issue of @St. Catherine to our enduring heritage and future promise. We reflect on what the chan
ge to university means to a diverse St. Kate’s community, share the University’s new mission and vision and introduce you to our new visual image.

Mission and Vision

Vision: to be a leading Catholic university distinguished by its innovative spirit and premier baccalaureate College for women.

Mission: St. Catherine University educates students to lead and influence. Inspired by its visionary founding in 1905 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, more than a century later the University serves diverse students, with a baccalaureate college for women at its heart and graduate and associate programs for women and men.

At all degree levels, St. Catherine integrates liberal arts and professional education within the Catholic tradition, emphasizing intellectual inquiry and social teaching, and challenging students to transformational leadership. Committed to excellence and opportunity, St. Catherine University develops ethical, reflective and socially responsible leaders, informed by the philosophy of the women's college and the spirit of the founders.

St. Catherine University logo
Our new logo symbolizes a century of strength, a creative and collaborative learning community, and a clear window onto a world of limitless opportunity. It symbolizes, authentically, us.

The logo design was influenced by the magnificent rose window in Our Lady of Victory Chapel. It is not only a lovely, familiar and enduring visual image of St. Catherine, but a wonderfully evocative shape suggesting community and collaboration, two hallmarks of the educational experience we offer.
