Sign that reads "St. Kate's Celebrates 100 Years.  Faculty/Staff Workshop Aug 31"Aug. 31: Faculty and staff gathered at The O'Shaughnessy to kick-off the Centennial year with the President's Opening Address. The event included a program highlighting the College's history through narration, music, dance and an appearance by Sister Andrea made up to look much older reminiscing about her experiences at the College.

Sept. 24-25: Wildcat Weekend, a series of athletic events including two conference volleyball matches, a soccer game, an alumnae softball game, a community cross country race and the unveiling of a new sports hall of fame. There will be a tailgate picnic before the soccer game.

Faculty admire the new mural in Coeur de CatherineOct. 2: Revealing of the Mural in the second floor atrium in Coeur de Catherine. The mural features images from the past century of the campus, students, faculty, staff and more. The celebration included a presentation by Andrea J. Lee, IHM, President of the College. Drew Sternal from L.A. Ink created the mural with the help of a number of St. Catherine's community members.
Archbishop Harry Flynn blesses Coeur de CatherineOct. 3: Dedication of Coeur de Catherine with Archbishop Harry Flynn and President Andrea J. Lee, IHM. Alumnae, friends and supporters toss coins in to the Mall of America pondJan. 7: The College of St. Catherine alumnae, friends and supporters joined at the Mall of America to mark the College’s 100-year legacy of educating women to lead and influence. Each “Katie” made a wish and tossed coins in the Nordstrom Court pond. All coins tossed in the Nordstrom Court pond during January will be donated to St. Catherine’s.

Performers during Mozart in ManhattanFeb. 4-5: The College presented the world premiere opera Mozart in Manhattan, a new opera by Professor Emeritus Albert Biales with libretto by Sociology Professor, Brian Fogarty. Several St. Catherine’s students participated in the chorus.
Feb. 26: Garrison Keillor, A Prairie Home Companion, broadcast live from The O’Shaughnessy.

March 2005
March 9-11: Linda Greenhouse, visiting Phi Beta Kappa scholar presents her special series Court, Country and Culture including a public lecture on March 10.
March 10: Centennial Lectures, A Century in Education—The Educated Woman and Her Times.
Art work by Sandra Meneffe TaylorMarch 12-April 17: SALTWORKS: The Preservation of Women’s Spirit. An installation by Sandra Menefee Taylor honoring the College of St. Catherine Centennial. Taylor builds a visually moving installation by starting with the common material of salt, evoking the ideas of preservation, memory and tears while mixing it with reflections from College of St. Catherine faculty, staff, students, alumnae and Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, the College’s founders. April 14: Centennial House Project Groundbreaking and Blessing. The College of St. Catherine along with other members of the community celebrated the groundbreaking for the College's Centennial House project with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. Full story...
