SKAT Charity Ball and the Festival of the Trees
On
Dec. 3, the St. Kate’s Activity Team (SKAT) will hold
its annual Charity Ball at the College of St. Catherine Rauenhorst
Hall, located on the third floor of Coeur de Catherine. The
Annual Charity Ball is a fun and creative way for students
to raise money for local charities.
Small
Christmas trees and wreaths are decorated by students, faculty
and stafff. These
“evergreen works of art” are displayed during
the Charity Ball and auctioned off to guests at the end of
the night. This year’s auction profits will support
Hope Street, a Minneapolis-based emergency shelter for homeless
and runaway youth.
The
night begins with a social hour at 7 p.m. followed by dancing
lessons from 7:30 to 8 p.m. The dance continues until 9 p.m.
Participants are encouraged to take a break from dancing to
bid on the trees and wreaths from the Festival of Trees in
the silent auction until 9 p.m. After the dancing, any remaining
trees will be sold by live auction.
Tickets
for the Charity Ball are now on sale at the Coeur de Catherine
Information Desk. The cost is $3 for a student ticket, and
$6 parent and guest tickets.
