Athletics Our athletes work hard on and off the field, and they have the biceps and the brainpower to prove it. At St. Kate's, we believe in the power of the mind and the body many St. Kate's students excel both academically and athletically. As part of the NCAA Division III, affiliated with the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), St. Kate's Athletic Program offers nine intercollegiate sports: basketball, cross country, ice hockey, soccer, swimming and diving, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. At St. Kate's, you're more than a number on a jersey. Our coaches will motivate you to run faster, jump higher and pump harder than you ever have before, but they'll also remember that you're not a machine. They care about you and how you are doing in your classes and in your other activities. Your teammates, many of them Academic All-Americans, two- or three-sport athletes and even members of the Dean's List, provide inspiration and encouragement in a spirit of genuine teamwork. For students who prefer a more flexible approach to sports, there are intramural or rec teams and aerobics, dance team, yoga or tai chi. Whether you're a serious athlete or a casual exerciser, you'll probably spend a lot of time in the Butler Center. The competition indoor pool and the gym's hardwood playing surface are considered tops in the MIAC. Whatever your style, you can exercise your body as well as your mind at St. Kate's! |
