Need-based Awards for Transfer Students
When you apply for financial assistance, you are
automatically considered for the following need-based financial aid programs:
College of St. Catherine
Grant
Eligibility: Academic promise;
need established on FAFSA.
Annual amount: Up to $15,000.
Allis Foundation Grants
Eligibility:
Academic excellence; need as established on FAFSA.
Annual amount: Up to $2000 per year.
Minnesota State Grant
Eligibility:
Minnesota residence; need as established on FAFSA.
Annual amount: Up to $8,499 (2007-2008 funding).
Federal Pell Grant
Eligibility:
Need as established on FAFSA.
Annual amount: $400 - $4,731.
Federal Supplemental Educational
Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
Eligibility:
Exceptional need established on FAFSA.
Annual amount: Up to $2,400.
Federal Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
Eligibility: Pell-eligible, rigorous high school curriculum, U.S. citizen
Annual amount: first-year student up to $750; second-year student up to $1,300.
Federal SMART Grant
Eligibility: Pell eligible, science/technology/language field major, 3.0 GPA, U.S. citizen.
Annual amount: Up to $4,000 per year for third and 4th years.
Minnesota Child Care Grant
Eligibility:
Minnesota residence, not on public assistance and proven financial need.
Obtain application from the Financial Aid Office.
Annual amount: Up to $2,300 per child.
Subsidized Federal Stafford
Loan
Eligibility: Need
as established on FAFSA.
Annual amount: Freshmen, $3,500; sophomores, $4,500; other undergraduates,
$5,500 annually to $23,000 over five years.
Terms: Fixed interest rate of 6.0% on loans made on or after July 1, 2008. Must be enrolled at least half time. Payments begin six months after graduation."
Federal Perkins Student
Loan
Eligibility: Need
as established on FAFSA.
Annual amount: Up to $2,000 annually.
Terms: Fixed interest rate of 5%. Must be enrolled at least half time. Payments begin nine months
after graduation.
Nursing Student Loan
Eligibility: Need
as established on FAFSA.
Annual amount: $2,500 annually.
Terms: Fixed interest rate of 5%. Must be enrolled at least half time.
Payments begin nine months after graduation.
