Scholarships

Our scholarship program recognizes students for their achievements in academics, leadership, service and talents. For priority consideration, apply for admission and submit all supporting materials by February 15, except where noted.

Presidential Scholarship
($13,500 per year for four years)
This scholarship is awarded to students who are in the top 15 percent of their high school class and have an ACT composite of 26 or an SAT score of 1800. Presidential Scholars are not eligible for the St. Catherine of Alexandria Scholarship for Academic Excellence and Leadership.

Valedictorian Scholarship
($14,000 per year for four years)
This scholarship is awarded to high school seniors designated as valedictorian of her graduating class. Valedictorians are not eligible for the St. Catherine of Alexandria Scholarship for Academic Excellence and Leadership, or the Presidential Scholarship.

St. Catherine of Alexandria Scholarship for Academic Excellence and Leadership
($5,500 to $11,000 per year for four years)
This scholarship is awarded to students who are in the top 20 percent of their high school class or have an ACT composite of 24 or an SAT score of 1650. Recipients must also have a B average.

Elizabeth Ann Beatson O'Shaughnessy Merit Scholarship
(Full tuition and fees for four years)
Each year, a student is selected on the basis of outstanding academic performance and extraordinary artistic or musical talent or excellence in extracurricular accomplishments. For priority consideration, apply for admission and submit all supporting materials by November 21.

CSC Scholarship for National Merit Scholars
($2,000 per year for four years)
Students recognized as National Merit semifinalists or finalists in the national competition are eligible for this award.

CSC Scholarship for National Achievement Scholars
($2,000 per year for four years)
Students recognized as African-American National Achievement semifinalists or finalists in the national competition are eligible for this award.

CSC Scholarships for National Hispanic Scholars
($2,000 per year for four years)
Students recognized as National Hispanic Scholar semifinalists or finalists in the national competition are eligible for this award.

CSC Scholarship for National Merit, National Achievement or National Hispanic Commended Student
($1,500 per year for four years)
Students recognized as commended students in the National Merit, Achievement or Hispanic competitions are eligible for this award.

Minority Excellence Program Scholarship
($6,000 per year for four years)
Students successfully completing the MEP program in the St. Paul public school system are guaranteed $6,000 in St. Catherine's funding. This funding may be in the form of St. Catherine's scholarships or grants.

First Step Summer Institute Scholarship
($2,000 per year for four years.) This scholarship is awarded to women of color who have completed St. Catherine University First Step Summer Institute.

Alumnae Referral Scholarship
(A one-time scholarship of $600)
This scholarship is awarded to every accepted student who receives an Alumnae Referral Card from an alumna of the University. The Referral Card must be submitted with her admission application.

TripliKate Scholarship
($3,000 per year for four years)
Students who have both a mother and grandmother who graduated from St. Catherine's are eligible for this scholarship.

DupliKate Scholarship
($2,000 per year for four years)
Students who have a mother or grandmother who graduated from St. Catherine's are eligible for this scholarship.

Family Scholarship for Mother/Daughter or Siblings
(Each family member receives $1,000 per year for up to four years)
Mothers and daughters or siblings who are simultaneously enrolled at the University as full-time undergraduate day, Weekend College or associate degree students and are members of the same household are eligible for this scholarship.

CSC Scholarship for Girl Scout Silver or Gold Award
($2,000 or $3,000 per year for four years)
Students who have completed, or will complete, their Silver Award by their high school graduation will receive $2,000. Students who have completed, or will complete, their Gold Award by their high school graduation will receive $3,000. Students may receive only one of these awards.

CSC Scholarship for 4-H Members
($2,500 per year for four years)
Students who have been active 4-H members at the high school level, demonstrated significant achievement, advanced to state fair competition and/or have served on state or national committees may be eligible for this award. To be considered for this scholarship, students need to provide a detailed list of their 4-H involvement on their admission application, or submit a 1,000-word essay.

Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet (CSJ) Scholarship
($2,500 per year for four years)
The CSJ Scholarship is awarded to one student at each of the three high schools founded by the CSJs: The Academy of Holy Angels, Benilde-St. Margaret's and Cretin-Derham Hall. Students applying for the CSJ Scholarship must be accepted to the University and have submitted a student essay describing her experiences with and commitment to social justice issues by February 15.

Sophia Brough Kampfer Scholarship for Montana Students
(Minimum of $5,000 per year for four years)
This scholarship is awarded to students whose legal residence is Montana. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

North Dakota Student Scholarship
($2,000 per year for four years)
This scholarship is awarded to students whose legal residence is North Dakota. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

South Dakota Student Scholarship
($2,000 per year for four years)
This scholarship is awarded to students whose legal residence is South Dakota. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Iowa Student Scholarship
($2,000 per year for four years)
This scholarship is awarded to students whose legal residence is Iowa.

Wisconsin Student Scholarship
($2,000 per year for four years)
This scholarship is awarded to students whose legal residence is Wisconsin.

Global Experience Scholarship
($1,000 per year for four years)
To be considered for this award, entering freshmen who participated in a global exchange program of three months or more can submit a 1,000-word essay describing the impact the experience has had on their personal beliefs.

Family, Consumer and Nutritional Sciences Scholarship
($1,000 per year for four years)
Two scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1,000 each. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, apply for admission by February 15 of their senior year, be involved in extracurricular activities and plan to major in family and consumer science, fashion and apparel, or foods and nutrition.

St. Caecelia Scholarship for Excellence in Music
($5,000 plus the cost of private music lessons per year for four years)
Music majors who show outstanding musical talent are eligible for this award. Students audition before faculty. Students who audition for a private music lesson scholarship have the opportunity to audition for the St. Caecelia Scholarship for Excellence in Music.

Private Music Lesson Scholarship
(Full cost of private music lessons per year for four years)
Music majors and minors with a 2.6 GPA or above are eligible for this award. Auditions are held before faculty.

Business Majors Scholarship
($1,000 per year for four years)
Two scholarships will be awarded each year in the amount of $1,000 each. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, apply for admission by February 15 of their senior year, be involved in extracurricular actvities and plan to major in business administration, accounting, sales or information systems.

Clare Boothe Luce Scholarship
(Full tuition, room, board and fees for last two years at St. Kate’s.)
Students must major in engineering in their last two years at St. Kate’s, have a GPA of 3.67 and be in top 10% of class (university-wide), and be involved in co-curricular activities.

NSF-STEM Diamonds in the Rough Scholarship
($2,000 for first year of enrollment)
For majors in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM), who have taken challenging science and math courses in high school and have a strong cumulative GPA. Must complete the FAFSA. Funded through the National Science Foundation (NSF) Award No. 0630882.
