Why St. Kate’s
St. Kate’s urban library certificate is a great way to begin your career working in libraries.
Strong partnerships
As a student in the urban library program, you will complete practicums in libraries across the Twin Cities, gaining hands-on, real-world experience.
Our partnerships with the Saint Paul Public Library and Hennepin County Library allow students to explore the day-to-day operation and work closely with library professionals and paraprofessionals. These partnerships often lead to jobs after graduation.
Career counseling
The urban library program is focused on growing your career — which is why career counseling services and résumé-building workshops are built into the program, putting you in a position to succeed professionally.
Access to a strong support network
St. Kate’s offers many services to its students that can make the program more manageable — from counseling services, Access and Success programs for student-parents and academic support from the O'Neill Center for Academic Development.
