McGlynn Computing and Technology Center

Burton J. McGlynn, chairman and founder of McGlynn Bakeries, is a trustee emeritus of St. Catherine. In 1994 and again in 1996, he made two extraordinarily generous charitable gifts to the school, specifically for computer technology.

Mr. McGlynn’s pace-setting investments in technology launched St. Catherine toward excellence in educational technology. Advancements in technology made possible by Mr. McGlynn’s generosity changed the way the St. Catherine community teaches, learns and works, and encouraged other donors to invest in technology. The McGlynn Computing and Technology Center was dedicated March 2, 1999.

The transformation in technology that Mr. McGlynn’s leadership and generosity made possible is central to fulfillment of St. Catherine’s vision: to be the leading Catholic university distinguished by its innovative spirit and premier baccalaureate college for women.
