Our Academic Technologies team provides services to help faculty members integrate technology into courses. Technology at St. Kate’s — from the traditional to the cutting edge — focuses on supporting and enhancing teaching and learning objectives.
Every course at St. Kate’s is set up to use Desire2Learn (D2L). The Academic Technologies team provides leadership in this area to faculty through training, workshops and the establishment of best practices.
Academic media and instructional design staff understand both technology and pedagogy. They work directly with faculty to:
- Identify needs for specific courses
- Explore potential solutions
- Provide hands-on assistance in developing an end product
Projects span a full range from the development of comprehensive distance learning programs to enhancing a specific lesson with an interactive online presentation.
Our experts are well-versed in the latest technologies, including video, audio and web, and they keep informed about what may be on the horizon for application in university settings.
Resource centers on both campuses are well equipped with the hardware, software and web-based delivery systems to support faculty in the integration of technology in their courses. Faculty and staff can stop by or set up an appointment.
