Among the students who graduate from our program, 100 percent have found jobs — most within the Twin Cities metro area.

Each year, 100 percent of our graduates pass the required Certified Respiratory Therapist exam.

Your bachelor's degree in respiratory care from St. Kate's will prepare to:

  • provide excellent, ethical, advanced-level respiratory therapy to patients of all ages
  • assume a leadership position in the profession
  • promote cardiopulmonary wellness, disease prevention and disease management
  • offer patient, family and community education
  • participate in life-support activities and clinical decision making

Credentials

You are eligible to take the Entry-Level Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Examination offered by the National Board for Respiratory Care when you complete our major.

Passing the exam allows you to apply to the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice to work as a respiratory therapist in Minnesota.

The CRT credential is a prerequisite for admission to the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Examination. An RRT credential signifies advanced knowledge, skills and abilities in the profession.
