Clinical Education
As a respiratory care major, you will complete almost 900 hours of clinical experiences in critical care, neonatal and pediatric intensive care, home care, pulmonary diagnostics and rehabilitation.
You will be an active participant in your learning experiences and work collaboratively with faculty to develop skills in critical thinking, clinical and ethical decision-making, and therapeutic and professional communication.
You will complete your supervised clinical learning at various Twin Cities hospitals, including:
- University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview
- Hennepin County Medical Center
- Methodist Hospital
- Abbott Northwestern Hospital
- North Memorial Health Care
- Children’s Hospitals and Clinics
You will also participate in real-life learning experiences in home-based respiratory care through our affiliations with agencies such as Pediatric Home Services.
