Post-professional MAOT program

The Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy — Post-Professional program is available for women and men with a baccalaureate degree and professional certification as an occupational therapist. It is offered in a weekday or alternate weekend format. Students complete core MAOT courses and elective graduate courses approved by the program.

  • OSOT 6100 Occupational Inquiry
  • OSOT 6200 Program Development and Evaluation
  • OSOT 6300 Clinical Studies I
  • OSOT 6400 Clinical Studies II
  • OSOT 6500 Policy and Politics in Human Service Systems
  • OSOT 6600 Theoretical Basis of Occupational Therapy
  • OSOT 7400 Client Education
  • OSOT 8900 Thesis Seminar (2 cr.) AND
  • OSOT8990 Thesis (2 cr.), or
  • OSOT 7900 Masters Project (2 cr.) AND an associated advanced topics course (2 cr.

Fourteen credits in elective courses may be selected from:

  • Other MAOT graduate courses (variable credits)
  • St. Catherine graduate courses from other departments (variable credits)
  • Independent Study or Practicum (variable credits)
  • Transfer credits for non–St. Catherine’s graduate courses (9 credits maximum)

Select a minimum of two credits from the following advanced topics courses:

  • OSOT 6630 Pediatric Assessment and Intervention
  • OSOT 6650 Technology and Rehabilitation
  • OSOT 6700 Lifestyle Balance
  • OSOT 6951–6953 Independent Study (1–3 cr.)
  • OSOT 6992 Perspectives on Health and Aging
  • OSOT 7300 Entrepreneurship in Occupational Therapy
  • OSOT 7102, 7152 Advanced Topics (to be identified)
