Graduate Studies in Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists (OTs) fill a uniquely practical niche in healthcare as they assist clients with activities of everyday life.. They are invaluable to the burgeoning aging population experiencing physical and cognitive changes, as well as youths with special needs and individuals with mental health conditions.
For example, a doctor may diagnose a patient’s condition, but no one is more qualified to evaluate an aging driver’s cognitive and physical ability to stay behind the wheel than an OT. And no one can better help that senior citizen regain the ability to drive or find alternatives so she can remain as independent as possible.
Occupational therapists also are an important resource for children and young adults. Twenty-three percent of OTs work in school systems, while others work in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and assisted living facilities, community centers, rehabilitation centers and homes.
This master's program for women and men uniquely prepares you for a lifetime of meaningful work.
