Accreditation and Licensure

The graduate curriculum in occupational therapy at St. Catherine University is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association. ACOTE presented a Certificate of Accreditation in 2002 for a period of 10 years to the Occupational Therapy Program at St. Catherine University. Following graduation, all students must take and pass the certification examination offered by the National Certification Board for Occupational Therapy. For the years 2006-2008 84 students graduated from the Master of Arts in occupational therapy program at St. Kate’s. Of those, 74 took the national certification test for the first time. Certification exam results for the years 2006-2008 indicate an overall passing rate of 91 percent for first time test takers. That compares to a national average of 87 percent for first time test takers.
