Dispute Resolution Concentration

Disputes within organizations large and small are disruptive, expensive and inevitable. Mastering organizational leadership means learning to effectively and ethically resolve disputes among individuals and groups.

Studying with a cross-section of practicing lawyers, human resources and business personnel and other professionals, you earn an MAOL degree from St. Kate’s and a certificate from Hamline University’s renowned Dispute Resolution Institute, verifying your ability to deal effectively with differences among individuals and groups.

Academic plan

The dispute resolution concentration requires completion of 44 total credits — 30 credits at St. Catherine and 14 at Hamline. See below for a sample course plan.

Additional information

Students wishing to pursue the dispute resolution concentration do not have to apply to the Hamline University School of Law to take courses in this concentration.

Registration for dispute resolution courses is handled through Hamline University. A letter of good academic standing is required before beginning courses at Hamline. This letter will be submitted to Hamline University by the registrar at St. Catherine if you carry a 3.0 grade-point average at the time of registration for Hamline courses.
