Discuss ideas publicly through Core Convocations and other lectures and events.
Plan clinical experience, student teaching or observation opportunities in your major field of study.
Begin planning for graduate school with the Career Development Office and with your faculty adviser. Attend one of the Twin Cities Graduate School Fairs offered during the fall. Contact Career Development for more information.
Explore opportunities for research and special projects through the Centers of Excellence and the Student Center and Activities collaboration.
Delve into your discipline by considering a research project with a faculty member or by presenting a paper at a major conference.
Join special interest clubs, honor societies and organizations affiliated with your major.
Seek a campus employment experience connected to your major, such as a peer tutoring or teaching assistant position.
Talk with the faculty in your major about career interests, goals and opportunities.
Begin to develop your resume. Seek out resources in the Career Development library.
Continue to build your College of St. Catherine portfolio. Consider creating an electronic portfolio; contact Career Development for a schedule of e-portfolio development workshops.
Attend the fall Career Opportunities Fair (open to all majors) to explore internship and employment opportunities.
Continue to act on your commitment to justice through service-learning opportunities, including America Reads, Volunteers in Action or other programs coordinated by the Office of Community Work and Learning.
Challenge yourself to see and make connections between the organizations, clubs, etc., in which you are a member/leader.
Review your academic catalog and Degree Checklist, then meet with your major adviser to identify which major, liberal arts core and other graduation requirements you have left to complete. Plan a schedule to ensure that you graduate on time.
Take advantage of support services, including MIPS (for multicultural and international students), Personal Counseling, Access and Success (for student parents), and Disability Services.
