Year Two: Bridges

Making connections to your profession and to your life after graduation.

FALL SEMESTER

During your first month of the semester, meet with your academic advisor to discuss your academic plan.
Discuss opportunities for leadership in your program with your academic advisor.
Attend the annual St. Catherine's Opportunities Career Fair on the St. Paul campus, open to all majors to learn about internship and employment opportunities.
Register for January and winter classes through KateWay: go to "My Education" tab. Under "Registration Tools," click on "Look Up Classes."
To print a copy of your class schedule using KateWay : go to "My Education" tab. Under "Student Information," click on "My Schedule." Select the current term and click on the submit button.
Consider transitioning to the St. Paul campus (or another campus). Information on transitioning can be found outside the AA Program Director's office. Ask your Academic Advisor to assist you in the transitioning process.
Get the most out of your college experience. Engage in campus programs and events.
Visit with a career counselor to make sure your career plans are in place.

GRADUATING SEMESTER

If you plan to graduate with an Associate of Arts degree, complete the Declaration of Intent to Graduate form, which is available through the Registrar's website and on KateWay. Deadline to complete this form is January 15.
Visit the Career Development Office for help with developing and refining your professional résumé and cover letters. Practice your interviewing skills and review the career-related resources (EDUC Room 365).
Consider the possibility of transitioning to the St. Paul campus (or another campus). Information on transitioning can be found outside the AA Program Director's office. Ask your academic advisor to assist you in the transitioning process.
Learn important financial management skills; attend the University-wide Money Management speaker series.
Complete the FAFSA to apply for financial aid for next year if you are transitioning to a baccaluareate degree program.
Meet with financial aid staff to ensure you understand your student loans and your repayment obligations.
