FALL SEMESTER
Learn about University systems at Orientation. Open your Lotus Notes e-mail account. Become familiar with KateWay, and see how easy it is to find information about the University.
Use your AA calendar/planner to stay on top of course assignments and appointments with your teachers and advisor.
Meet with your advisor during weeks 4, 8 and 12 to complete your Critical Competencies Checklist.
Check mid-term grades on KateWay and schedule an appointment with your advisor to discuss your progress so far.
Visit the Learning Center to refine your academic skills (EDUC Room 370).
During November, with the assistance of your advisor, register for January and winter classes through KateWay: go to "My Education" tab, then click on "Registration Tools," and click on "Look Up Classes."
To print a copy of your class schedule using KateWay: go to "My Education" tab. Under "Student Information," click on "My Schedule." Select the current term and click on the submit button.
Attend the Wednesday AA seminars on time management, plagiarism, transition planning and other important topics.
Engage in campus activities and events. Take advantage of free programs and workshops to get the most from your college experience.
Attend the Career Opportunities Fair (St. Paul campus) to learn about employment prospects.
WINTER SEMESTER
During the first month of winter semester, meet with your academic advisor to discuss your academic plan.
If you are uncertain about your major, attend the Transitions Workshop, "Picking A Major" or schedule an individual appointment with a career counselor (651-690-8121).
Check your fall and January grades on KateWay: click on the "My Education" tab, then click "My Grades." Discuss your progress with your academic advisor.
As you get to know your program faculty, identify faculty members who might serve as mentors.
Visit the Learning Center to refine academic skills or to become a tutor/learning assistant (EDUC Room 370).
Take advantage of opportunities to network with healthcare employers on the Minneapolis campus. Watch for dates/times in campus publicity and postings.
Attend the Transition Seminars to learn about transitioning to a baccalaureate program on the St. Paul (or another) campus. Find information about transitioning outside the AA Program Director's office. Ask your academic advisor to assist you with the transitioning process.
If you are not transitioning to the St. Paul campus, register for summer and fall classes through KateWay: go to "My Education" tab. Under "Registration Tools," click on "Look Up Classes."

Attend the Majors and Activities Fair on the St. Paul campus during February to explore possible majors and related co-curricular activities.
Complete the FAFSA form to apply for financial aid for next year. Priority deadline is April 15.
Meet with your academic advisor to select courses for the next semester and to ensure that you are completing all course work for graduation.
Attend the University-wide Money Management speaker series to learn important life skills of financial management.
Build your leadership skills by becoming involved or taking a leadership role in one of the campus clubs or organizations.
Explore volunteer and work opportunities in your chosen field to gain experience and make connections with professionals.
