Making
Connections that Last a Lifetime
Your
college years are a time of exploration and discovery - a time to
stretch yourself, to revel in new ideas and, after you've considered
all the options, to chart your course for the future. The Catherine
Connection is a four-year program to help you develop your potential
for effective and ethical leadership and make connections that will
last a lifetime. Through participation in academic, co-curricular
and work experiences, you enrich your knowledge, refine your skills
and clarify your values so you can take responsible action and lead
a successful life. During your time at St. Catherine, you will meet
often with faculty and advisers to discuss your involvement in Catherine
Connection activities, your academic progress and personal growth.
The
Catherine Connection is one demonstration of our commitment to put
our hearts and souls into your education. At St. Kate's we do everything
in our power to help you develop the skills and values you need
to succeed in your personal and professional life. Many students
find that Catherine Connection activities are helpful in developing
a portfolio of academic work, which is the capstone project for
several majors.
The
first year of the Catherine Connection is entitled "Gateways"
and focuses on making connections with the campus community and
beginning your personal exploration process. In your second year,
the emphasis is on developing "Pathways" to reach your
academic and career goals. During your third year, "Avenues"
helps you delve deeper into study in your chosen major and begin
to become expert in your field. During your fourth and final year
at St. Kate's, your focus shifts toward building "Bridges"
with your professional community and moving your career forward.
All Catherine Connection opportunities are available to you at any
time during your college career, though you may find some more helpful
at certain points in your journey.
